ABOUT

Who's Behind This?

A personal note from Avi Itzkovitch, creator of Feelings & Emotions.

For many years, I've been fascinated by a simple question:

What is actually happening inside us when we feel something?

Why does resentment feel different from a grudge? What separates sadness from grief? When does fear protect us, and when does it begin to limit our lives? What is the difference between a feeling, an emotion, and a sensation?

The more I explored these questions, the more I began to see our inner world not as something random or chaotic, but as something with an underlying intelligence.

Nothing within us is unnecessary.

Every emotion has a function. Every feeling carries information. Every sensation points somewhere.

The problem is that most of us were never given a map.

Feelings & Emotions grew from my desire to create that map.

It is part of a framework I call Practical Awareness — an approach to understanding our inner experience through awareness rather than judgment.

Instead of dividing emotions into good and bad, positive and negative, the invitation is to ask something more useful:

What is this showing me?

When we can recognize what is happening within us, we are less likely to become unconsciously trapped inside it.

A grievance can be seen as a grievance. Resentment can be distinguished from anger. Fear can reveal what the mind is projecting into the future. An emotion that once seemed overwhelming can begin to reveal its purpose, its structure, and the mental position sustaining it.

Awareness changes our relationship with what we feel.

And sometimes, simply seeing something clearly is already the beginning of releasing it.

This project brings together years of spiritual inquiry, writing, lived experience, contemplation, and my ongoing exploration of the movement from mind to heart. With the help of AI, I was able to organize and expand that research into something I had imagined for years: an interconnected lexicon where feelings, emotions, sensations, and states of being can be explored side by side, compared, distinguished, and followed through their relationships with one another.

The result is not meant to be the final authority on human emotion.

It is a map.

A place to explore what is happening within you, understand where it may be pointing, and perhaps discover that even the parts of ourselves we struggle with have something to show us.

About Avi Itzkovitch

I'm Avi Itzkovitch, a spiritual mentor and author of The Art of Not Knowing and Conscious Relationships.

My work is centered on translating timeless spiritual wisdom into simple, practical language we can use in everyday life — particularly around suffering, emotions, relationships, intuition, presence, and the movement from mind to heart.

Feelings & Emotions is an extension of that work.

A way of looking inward with greater clarity.

Because when we understand what is happening inside us, we no longer have to fight it.

We can listen to where it is pointing.

Books

A Practical Guide to Spiritual Awakening

A practical exploration of the journey from mind to heart — why we suffer, how emotions work, how to trust our intuition, and what becomes possible when we stop trying to control and understand every part of life.

From Unconscious Habit to Conscious Union

A book about what happens when we bring awareness into love. It explores expectations, fear, attachment, heartbreak, freedom, and the unconscious patterns that shape our relationships — and how seeing those patterns clearly can change the way we love.

Online Course

A deeper exploration of one of the central questions behind my work:

Why do we suffer, and is it possible to experience life differently?

The course explores the difference between feelings and emotions, how the mind turns difficult experiences into suffering, and how awareness can help us meet sadness, fear, loss, and uncertainty without becoming trapped inside them.
