Classical Definition

In existential psychology and philosophy, the fundamental state of existence or consciousness as it presents itself in direct experience, prior to conceptual elaboration. Heidegger's concept of 'Dasein' emphasizes that human existence is always situated, temporal, and engaged with the world.

About

The absolute. Non-dual. True love is rooted here. Not a state — what remains when states come and go.

What the Traditions Say

Being is not an experience that comes and goes. It is the ever-present background that the mind overlooks in its constant movement. The freshness of the moment is always here, always new, always free of what we think we know.

— Jean Klein, Jean Klein, The Ease of Being
