Classical Definition

A somatic and psychological experience of heightened arousal, tension, or activation that cannot be discharged through movement, expression, or action, resulting in a sense of internal pressure or constriction. Physiologically, it reflects sustained sympathetic nervous system activation without corresponding motor output.
